R.I.P. Bubba Smith

He was a great football player.....but he became even more famous as Hightower...in  the Police Academy movies.

Our hearts and prayers are with his family:

Football and 'Police Academy' Star Bubba Smith Found Dead

Bubba Smith, a former NFL player for the Baltimore Colts, Oakland Raiders and Houston Oilers, who segued successfully into an acting career, has been found dead in his Baldwin Hills home. He was 66.

Smith, known by many as Moses Hightower in the long-running "Police Academy" movie series, also appeared on television, including in a couple episodes of "Married...With Children."

Born Charles Aaron Smith in 1945, the athlete grew up in Texas, and later went on to Michigan State University to play ball, where he was a part of what became known as the "Game of the Century" in 1966. In 1970 he was on the Super Bowl-winning Colts team. Smith transitioned to acting in the late 1970s after leaving pro football.

A caretaker found Smith's body Wednesday afternoon. Authorities believe his death was of natural causes.

Hightower.....Doing what he thought...was the right thing.
