Herschel Walker is defying ....."Father Time".

Herschel Walker 2-0 in mixed martial arts after winning Strikeforce match vs. Scott Carson
The former NFL star won a one-sided mixed martial arts fight against Scott Carson on Saturday night's Strikeforce card.
Walker knocked Carson down 20 seconds into the first round, according to MMAFighting.com, and didn't look back from there.
After picking his younger opponent up and slamming him to the ground again, Walker only had to keep up a fight for 3 minutes and 13 seconds before the ref called it quits.
Ever the perfectionist, Walker pointed to a couple mistakes he saw in the quick bout in the post-game interview.
"I relaxed a bit and I got kicked," he said in the post-fight interview, "So yeah I gotta work on that."
It was the second fight for Walker, who remains undefeated in the sport. His opponent, however, wasn't exactly the toughest.
According to MMAWeekly, Carson had fought only once in the last nine and a half years.
Walker said he was just thrilled to be back in the cage and fighting again.
Walker made his MMA debut last January and said he wasn't totally focused on getting back in the cage yet.
"If I come back, I'm definitely going to fight somebody tougher," Walker said in the post-fight interview.
His only priority now, he said, was getting back in the gym and working out more.
"I just want to train and bring more recognition to the sport," he said. ‘I just to make a little bit more money for these guys."
As for rumors that he was trying to make a comeback to the NFL, Walker said he was merely misquoted.
"The comment that I made was somebody asked me if I could play today and I said there's no doubt in my mind I could play," he said. "And they asked me if I came back which team I would play for and I said I'd play for Atlanta, that's home for me … but I never said I was coming back."

The Atlanta Braves really suck on the road....
Once again, the Braves proved that they are a bad baseball team away from the friendly confines of Turner Field. The recent 6 game road trip turned out 5 losses and 1 win. After winning 1 in Milwaukee, the Braves were swept over the weekend by the Cincinnati Reds. It has to be a mental thing. No hitting........no pitching..........just losses. Maybe the Braves can petition Major League Baseball to play all remaining games..........in the ATL.
The NBA.....never learns........
The NBA final 2 teams were determined Friday night.......The Lakers and Celtics. Great match up..........but...........The NBA is making us wait until Thursday for game 1. Why? Don't they realize, this is summer time. People have options. There are lakes to fish, beaches to roam, barbecues to tend to, etc. The interest was there. Why not take advantage of the hype? I just don't get it.
Odell Thurman hasn't learned either.....
In a not so surprising turn of events, Odell has been suspended, again, by the NFL for substance abuse. That sound you hear is Thurmans' career coming to a screeching halt. The Cincinnati Bengals had already released the former Georgia Bulldog star linebacker. Now , no team in their right mind will risk signing him........Oh well, there is aways,,,,,,,the Arena League.
Kimbo Slice........blew his opportunity........
Mr. Slice was given a prime time opportunity to show his MMA skills........The opponent was hand picked. CBS was televising the event live. And in the end, Kimbo just looked like a tired old man who escaped defeat because the referee stopped the fight. With all the pre-fight hype regarding Slice.........he came across as a major disappointment.

Introducing..........Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter, Kimbo Slice.
Real name, Kevin Ferguson..........Hails from Miami. Former street fighter....Former bodyguard.......One tough hombre.
33 years old. Stands 6' 2" , weighs 240 pounds. Until last night, most of his fights were on You Tube.
With the sad state of professional boxing, MMA is filling a void by catering to young America. It even had the audacity to nationally televise a bout on free TV. And CBS......none the less.
Boxing has priced itself out of the market with its' Pay-per-view and cable deals. Last night's telecast was truly refreshing.
